Giel Rutten – Chief Executive Officer (CEO)

Giel worked for almost 25 years in the semiconductor industry in Europe, the US, and China. He has a broad experience in engineering, manufacturing, product marketing and general management. He started his career with Philips and later NXP semiconductors where, as member of the executive management team, he was responsible for the business unit Home. Over the last years he served as CEO of several midsized companies with a focus on organizational change, mergers and acquisitions. Giel holds a Master’s degree in Solid State Physics.

Jan Kemeling

Jan Kemeling – Chief Sales & Marketing Officer (CMO)

Jan co-founded Ledzworld in December 2008 and lived and worked in Asia since 1990. Jan has founded and managed several companies in China, Hong Kong, Malaysia and Indonesia. He has in-depth knowledge of the design, (outsourced) large scale manufacturing, and worldwide distribution of products for the consumer electronics industry. In 2006 Jan was awarded with the prestigious China Trader’s Award, by the Dutch ambassador in China. Jan holds a Bachelors degree in marketing management (The Hague, The Netherlands).

Ken Chakravarti

Ken Chakravarti – Chief Technology Officer (CTO)

Ken brings over 20 years of expertise in innovative product design development and design for manufacturability in start-up to multinational organizations. Ken has orchestrated world-class programs in engineering, manufacturing and global operations and is proficient in the development of switch-mode power circuit designs, LED packaging, lamp assembly and micro opto-electronics packaging. Most recently, he has served as the Chief Operating Officer (COO), OptiComp Corporation, Vice President of Global Operations at Lamina Lighting and Lighting Science Corporation. Ken has degrees in mechanical engineering and management.

Sherman See

Sherman See – Chief Finance Officer (CFO)

Before joining Ledzworld, Sherman was in Corporate Finance with a listed Malaysian company, where he was responsible for M&A and overseeing their expansion in infrastructural projects in several South East Asian countries. Prior to that, he held several regional positions of multinational companies like Dell and B. Braun Medical as the Regional Corporate Controller. Sherman started his career with 4 years in investment banking and consultancy with Deloitte. He graduated from the University of Melbourne, Australia and is a Certified Practicing Accountant of Australia (“CPA”).

Jessie Teh

Jessie Teh – Supply Chain Management

During her 21 year career in manufacturing Jessie obtained vast experience in planning & logistics by working in different industries.  During her stay with a Taiwan based electronic components manufacturer she was responsible for setting up a fully ISO certified manufacturing plant in China. 

Hooi Boon Soo

Boon Soo, Hooi – Procurement

Boon Soo has 14 years of experience in the LED business. He worked  as a product development engineer for Osram Optoelectronics (Penang, Malaysia), followed by 7 years in China for Taiwanese Optoelectronics group Yashin as a test- and measurement manager. Hooi Boon Soo holds a Bachelor of Electronics degree from the University of Sheffield (UK).
 
 

Rob Honneff

Rob Honneff – Business Development Director EU (BD-EU)

Rob has worked in the lighting and semiconductor industry in Europe for over 20 years. Rob, who holds a degree in Engineering and Management has worked in several top management positions at Philips Semiconductors and Philips Lighting, before joining TCP lighting from the USA. He has a broad experience in product marketing,  international key account management, building distribution networks, business development and general management.

Steve Cooch

Steve Cooch – Business Development Director USA (BD-US)

Steve brings over 23 years of experience in the North American lighting and electronics industry. He has worked in the LED lighting business in Senior Sales Engineering positions for Lighting Science Group Corp./Lamina Lighting, and most recently as LED Engineering Manager and Northeast Sales Representative for Associated Component Sales. Steve has led product development projects for large ODM customers such as Osram Sylvania and Philips. Steve holds an MBA from Tepper School of Business
